Mad Drive Along Water

Space Jazz

Wheels turning and waves grinding down
the way along the shoreline
travelling is adventure
from this still place
we call isolation
memories flood in like the tide
bring tears to my eye
as memories are all we are left

we feel our way in this darkness
paths locked up by anxious rules
we feel pinched by the the fate
of the people who have to feed their children
have to educate and work under complex arrangements
hospitals bursting with suffering
emptied out by death or recovery
