Physics of Chemistry

This molecule goes here and that one there
there is no room for that sort of thing
just put it in the corner and help me lift
this body-filled casket
that’s right break a rib or two
being unkind to yourself
corrupted bucketloads of conviction and meaning
inert elements failing to reason
they fall headlong into each other
recombine as marionetted faith hovers
beneath our will
undermined treasures left sparkling in the mud
embedded but for now forgotten

We are the smaller bits of truth
underneath the surface we jitter
our movement expresses heat
our separation confines us to stability
our combination and everything implodes
