Poetry and War

There are times, when indeed, the writing of poetry
is approved

there are times when she too, fails to be amused

but once in the beat of a swallows wings dart
the words come to play with your things
the magic is hard to avoid
but if you are smart you may sing

other times, you can keep it locked in the void
and think of words that do not haunt
or move

think of words of the business world
or the meeting of the minds of warriors
or those competitions to insult the architects
the meaningless rules and no money to build schools

being raised on cake stalls
burnt by the warrior queen
her chariot of bones and bees
disrupting order with
wild bloody mayhem
chaos became history

the reels of time
gather them in

to hear our stories
of the end of the world
