Ode to the Shop-lifter

Stranglers decked out in the dizzying heights of fashion,
surfaces plunge, necklines from profanity to depths charging
at the checkout clang and shatter
get dragged out and your clothes ripped by strangers
the guards at the gates of hell or high water
