Together Alone

By the slippery light of the autumn moon
we dance leaving a trail of silver dust
kicked up from our pointed feet
deliberate and yet free
these nights spent
together alone and connected
by a frenzy of spider webs
ideas that envelope our simple togetherness
our shared secrets clasp our hands
tight in a single glove
the clouds shudder over us
painting the sky with rememberance
twisting our notions of sequence
as we pluck on the strings
and play each others music
gently
the sky clears and the stars poke holes
in the atmosphere
we spin in this space together, alone
