Eggshells

She spat in his eye
and the acid on her tongue
gave him hallucinations
he took to the sea
and washed himself down
now the fish are seeing
bulldozers and the land
washed by each electric wave
thinks itself better than
the forgotten past

She took his clothes
and out the window they sailed
said thing to make him leave
and sealed the deal with a
fatal kiss

the bald man defends his actions
forever in the court of lies
his friends jailed for his crimes
he defends his friends but loses every time

She took a photograph
of his body
and sent it to the news papers
I am guilty she said
of the murder of reason
